We've been in the room. Now we're holding the door open.
Your insider into Corporate Canada
Between us, we've spent nearly two decades navigating Corporate Canada - the interviews, the unwritten rules, the moments where you wonder if it's you or just... the system. And somewhere along the way, we realized something: the advice that actually helps brown women get hired, get promoted, and get ahead? It almost never makes it into the mainstream conversation. That's why we built Brown Girl Hired.
We're not here to tell you to 'just be confident.' We're here to tell you what actually works - inside the specific corporate culture you're trying to break into.
Who we are
Nida Malik

Co-founder
We're two brown women who've built careers in Canadian corporate - one with over 12 years in HR, sitting across the table from thousands of candidates, and one with 6+ years working within Canadian organizations and understanding how the culture operates from the inside out. Together, we've seen every side of the hiring process.
We know what makes a resume land and what makes it get skipped. We know what interviewers mean when they say 'culture fit.' We know how to navigate the small talk, the office politics, the performance reviews, and the quiet moments where imposter syndrome tells you that you don't belong.
You do belong. And we're going to help you prove it - on your terms.
Who we're here for
Whether you're new to Canada and trying to understand how the job market works here, coming back to work after time away, or you've been in the Canadian workforce for years but feel like the ladder isn't moving - this space was built for you.
How we work with you
Through one-on-one coaching sessions, our podcast, and practical resources, we help you sharpen your resume, prepare for interviews, and develop a strategy for the career you actually want. Everything we share comes from real experience - not theory.
We're warm. We're direct. And we will not waste your time with advice that doesn't apply to your life.
Ready to get hired? We're ready to help.
